MY APPROACH

Literally anyone can call themselves a “coach.” Given that, it’s important to find someone qualified and well-trained. I’ve logged over 2,500 hours of professional coaching experience and over 350 hours of training since 2015 through Coaches for Transformation, the Neuro-Linguistic Programming Center of NYC and Lyra Health Cognitive Behavioral Coaching programs. I am a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation and member practitioner at MINKA Wellness in Brooklyn, NY, Kensho Health and WellSet. 

My approach sees each client as whole and resourceful. I listen for the deeper agenda and guide my clients towards greater understanding of themselves using evidence-based cognitive behavioral techniques. My greatest goal for you is that you walk away with a stronger relationship to yourself, with more skills, more compassion and more strength to do what you have set out to do. Being an inspired person means that you care, a lot, about many things. I allow you to put things into perspective, prioritize and make clear action plans for forward movement.  

Some useful distinctions about what coaching is and is not: 

  • Therapy is about healing more severe and specialty symptoms; coaching is about navigating mild to moderate stressors that impact your day-to-day.

  • Consulting prescribes expertise-based solutions and advice; coaching emboldens you to act on your own wisdom. 

  • Mentoring guides you based on a mentor’s experience; coaching guides you according to your own values and intentions.

  • Training follows a set curriculum toward set objectives; coaching reveals your own objectives and a path to fulfill them.

  • Coaching supports you to get clear on what is truly important to you and to move forward past where you are currently stuck.


MY STORY 

I’ve been involved in personal development and wellness work for the past 10 years with a focus on interpersonal communication and emotional wellness. I studied coaching through the Coaching for Transformation program, the Neuro-Linguistic Programming Center of NYC and Lyra Health Cognitive Behavioral Coaching frameworks. I am an accredited Professional Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation and have logged over 2,500 hours of professional coaching experience. 

I believe that emotional wellness comes from having a deeper understanding of ourselves and being courageous enough to make choices in service to our core values. I’ve seen people realize their amazing potential for growth when they are supported with kindness, compassion and direction.

My own personal wellness has come from developing a warm relationship with my mind, engaging in joyful exercise each day, cultivating a supportive community and appreciating our natural resources. I live on the island of Hawai’i and am passionate about friendship, swimming in the ocean, West African drum and dance, and creating opportunities for vulnerability. I embody warmth, curiosity and determination in service to my client’s goals.

IDENTITY

Angela identifies as a white, pansexual, Irish-Canadian/American woman in the middle socioeconomic class. She is allied with, and has extensive experience supporting clients who identify as LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, immigrant, and ESL. She has also had experience supporting non-monogamous relationships and people with mental or physical disabilities.

My starting package is 3 months, two 45 minute sessions per month. Long enough for meaningful results, short enough for a doable commitment — and we can always renew from there.

I offer coaching via video conference or phone on a sliding scale to increase accessibility to coaching:

$130/month If your income is uncertain. 

$170/month If it’s a stretch to be investing in coaching right now. 

$210/month If you’re financially stable. 

$250/month if you’re financially flourishing or receiving organizational funding.

package and rates - Live messaging

Live messaging sessions are a great format for people who feel more comfortable with the space and privacy that live messaging provides. We meet on zoom but without video or sound, simply using the chat feature for the entirety of our 45 minute session. While the results are the similar, less can be covered in a live messaging session and the rates reflect this. Live messaging sessions are a nice option for people who have never engaged in coaching or therapy before and want to get used to it in private. Package is 3 months, two 45 minute sessions per month.
